Sales Representative / Marketing Specialist Wanted

Working Draft is looking for a multi-faceted team member to be one of the faces and voices of the brewery. In this role, you’d build relationships with our retail partners, increase wholesale revenues, and increase traffic to the taproom by spreading awareness of WDBC with appropriate marketing channels and honing WDBC’s “voice.”  

Sales representative Role Priorities and Responsibilities 

  • Grow sales outside of the WDBC taproom

    • Identify, pursue, and secure new on-premise and off-premise accounts and opportunities

    • Maintain and build relationships with current accounts and contacts

  • Increase WDBC brand awareness

    • Help arrange, attend, and manage on and off-site tastings and tap takeovers, festivals, beer dinners, promotions, special events, etc.

  • Show initiative and work both independently and collaboratively

  • Assist in setting regular sales goals and creating target account lists

  • Advise the Manager & Ownership team of market trends and other insights

  • Represent Working Draft Beer Company with passion and professionalism

  • Other duties as assigned

Marketing Specialist Role Priorities and Responsibilities 

  • Work with Management to hone WDBC’s voice and use that voice to communicate WDBC’s message to the local community:

    • Utilize Facebook, Instagram, and any other appropriate marketing channels to create and post at least five messages per week, including:

      • Highlight all beer releases

      • Highlight all events

      • Highlight staff

      • Highlight community partners

    • Post all on-premise events at least two weeks in advance (one month for marquee and other major events) to available event listings sites (Facebook, madison608, The Isthmus, etc.)

  • Show initiative and work both independently and collaboratively

  • Have a finger on the pulse of all-things WDBC

  • Keep current with industry insights and evaluate and learn from similar businesses

  • Assist in creating and curating content for 

    • Social media outlets

    • Posters

    • Website

    • Newsletter

    • Print publications

    • Square contacts

    • Other channels as appropriate

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in sales and / or craft beer industry preferred

  • Previous marketing experience preferred

  • Ability to safely drive delivery van

  • Ability to lift and move kegs and cases of beer

  • Have reliable transportation, with the ability to occasionally drive to off site events in your own vehicle

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to plan, schedule, and complete work to meet appropriate deadlines

  • A self starter with the ability to think outside of the box and a curiosity about our industry, market, and community

  • Occasional night and weekend availability

  • Experience working with Google Workspace products

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Excellent communication skills including written and visual/design

  • Basic computer / internet competency for collaboration and publishing/posting

  • Ability to maintain sobriety while at work

Schedule

  • 40-45 hours per week, with some weekend work required

    • 25-35 hours per week focused on Sales Representative duties

    • 10-15 hours per week focused on Marketing Specialist duties

Employee Status

  • Full-time exempt

Compensation

  • $40,000 / year base (or more depending on experience) plus performance bonuses

Work Location

  • 70% off-site (mostly visiting accounts), 30% on-site
